One of the biggest lessons I had to learn when I started marketing my business on the internet was in realizing the company and business I represent was not the most important thing.
I started with a company replicated web site that looked like everyone else's and promoted the product.
It wasn't a very profitable way to build as you probably can guess, and it's not the way we should be marketing.
Yes we need products that provide real value and that people would buy anyway even if there wasn't an income opportunity with it. And yes I do believe we should definitely be users of our products and feel passionately about them. How can we recommend something we don't use ourselves?
However, success in MLM does not come from promoting the products first...... but rather in promoting ourselves.
The most successful people I know in network marketing... meaning the LARGEST money earners...promote themselves more then anything else.
People join other people.
People join those that they like, respect...and most importantly trust....and
who they believe are going to help them reach the goals they have in life.
You can't built trust on the internet with a company replicated web site. You need to stand out from the crowd.
The thing that will really sell people is YOU..... if that prospect believes you are someone who can help them get to where they want in life.
The network marketers who make this fundamental shift in how they do business online will certainly be ahead of the masses who are still promoting their company first. Yes people do use google to search for someone from company X with the possibility of joining, but with so many options don't you agree they are going to be looking for someone who can help them, rather than a generic page that just screams of "buy now"?
Learning the art of "attraction marketing" and personal branding will make a huge difference in your marketing efforts. It won't matter if your prospect lives down the street, or in another country.
I can honestly say you won't consider doing network marketing the old way once you learn new skills to generating your own leads and having prospects finding you and contacting you first.
